Today, I came home early from work and we went to do a session at the temple. Mom and Dad ran into some old friends at the temple. The Malms (he was dad's trainer at the St George Temple) are on a temple mission here in Laie at the temple. He is going to give dad a call so they can get together.
This is after the temple session and we were walking out and remembered that we needed to take pictures!!! Not sure I would be forgiven if I let two days go by without taking pictures.
This is looking from the temple down the road to Temple Beach.
Then we drove out to the Kahuku Farms fruit stands where we were able to get some more pineapple, papaya, and fresh coconut.
We always go to this lady for our food. She has the smallest fruit stand in the line of stands and is the oldest one there. She told us today she is 84 years old. She is so sweet. She always gives us a good price (better than the tourist price). She told mom and dad that they were young and she gave them a warm welcome to Hawaii. Then she told me how lucky I was to have both parents because many don't have that. Then she went back and got her machete and whacked the top off the three coconuts so we could drink the coconut water.
Mom had a bit of a sour stomach so she didn't try it. Dad had a memory of Grandpa Black bringing home a coconut for Christmas one year and having them all try the coconut water. He said he didn't like it then so he wasn't interested in trying it here!!!
Then we drove out to Turtle Bay Resort which is only about 6 miles from our house. We walked out to the beach. The cove was protected a bit from the wind but as you can see in the background, the waves were about 25-30 foot waves.
Dad got his socks full of sand and had to sit down and take them off.
We are wearing them out!!! They sat down and waited with Linda while Brandon and I went down and got the car and came back up to pick them up.
Here is the sun starting to go down when we left the bay.
